Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) enables network operators to compete aggressively with over the top (OTT) vendors such as WhatsApp and Skype. VoLTE enables end users to initiate and accept high-definition voice calls and have access to several other services, such as video calling, without accessing a third-party application from the end device.
While incentives for switching over to an all Internet Protocol (IP) network are aplenty, there are many challenges involved. For example, mobile device manufactures face difficulties engineering VoLTE-compliant devices that can seamlessly transition between network deployments and ensure increased battery life.
This report discusses the challenges in more detail and demonstrates how Spirent’s BEEHD Client Framework addresses them with a library of easy-to-use APIs. Download the full report now to read more.
